Our Planet Therapy Co.
in Honolulu, HI
OPTC is way more than just an NFT project with cool art, they are an actual business. Our Planet Therapy Co. is a company based in Hawaii on the island of O'ahu. They offer inclusive workshops and events for children of all ages and levels of functioning. Their most popular event is their Keiki in Nature workshops that are held at local farms across the island. These workshops provide children the ability to learn and explore their surroundings in nature by providing a hands-on, fully immersive experience. Each event is led by occupational therapist Tyler Jeklinski, who is also the founder of this project. Tyler has a vision of expanding their offerings across the mainland U.S. as well as redefining the relationship between nature and today's youth. Check out their company website below!
services Offered
Other than Keiki in Nature workshops, other services that Our Planet Therapy Company provides are:
- Individualized Occupational Therapy: These exceptionally unique OT treatments are done in an outdoor, nature-based setting, rather than an indoor office setting. Services in this type environment immediately facilitate increased engagement and motivation, making it easier to address skills in need of developing.
- Pre-Vocational Skills Workshops: These workshops are dedicated to developing and fine-tuning necessary skills to perform specific tasks/demands, and prepping kids for real life jobs when transitioning from a school environment to a work-place environment.
- Scavenger Hunt Hikes: There are many developmental skills that are not met in an ordinary classroom environment, especially when faced with diagnoses such as autism or learning disabilities. These scavenger hunt hikes allow children to improve on certain developmental areas that will improve overall functioning in daily life, including social skills, motor skills, sequencing, attention, and much more.
- Monthly Beach Clean-Ups: Monthly beach clean-ups are scheduled with the idea of keeping keiki and their families engaged with their community, while also learning about the importance of giving back to nature in a fun way! These clean-ups include prizes and friendly competitions throughout.
